But they typically just say things like "have a positive mental attitude, focus, have some heart, stay relaxed, etc." Beyond that, little attention is devoted to the subject. And that's mainly because the vital relationship between the mind and body has not been fully appreciated or understood. The SWIMSKILLS Mental Conditioning programme, developed in association with Hi5 Performance has been specially developed for age group swimmers and is dedicated to helping swimmers develop the mental skills that will allow them to become mentally tough and achieve their goals. SWIMSKILLS Mental Conditioning workshops are run by highly trained applied Sport Psychologists with expertise in the areas of mental conditioning, education, and counselling. They have extensive experience of working with coaches, parents, and individual swimmers. Workshops cover such areas as: motivation, concentration/focus, awareness, confidence, self-discipline, Intensity, Composure, Perspective, Communication, Continuous Improvement, life Skills, and enhancing the enjoyment of sport!
